He didn’t know what had gone wrong. He had done everything he should. Or at least he thought that he should do. He didn’t think that declaring bankruptcy was an option. It just seemed kind of an extreme measure. Maybe it wasn’t, he didn’t really understand the whole concept. That was probably why he needed to talk to a professional about debt relief. That might not be too bad. Or maybe he could do something with debt consolidation. He knew that making the minimum payments wasn’t getting him anywhere. He knew that credit counseling was something he needed to actively pursue. No one was going to show up at his house with a calculator and an endless amount of patience to try and get a handle on the whole thing. He wished that he had thought to put all of his expenses into a spreadsheet, but that would possibly have made things worse.
